17.11.2009 Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry

A new issue of the 60°north magazine published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has come out. The language of the magazine is English, and the latest issue focuses on climate change from various perspectives. For Finnish agriculture it means both threats and opportunities. On the pages of 60°north you will meet Finns who expect to see quite radical impacts of climate change at work and in their everyday lives. In her interview the President of Finland Tarja Halonen also reflects on the challenges of the Copenhagen Climate Conference.

The name 60°north derives from the location of Finland north of the 60th parallel of latitude. The magazine tells the European readers about how this impacts on our natural resources and their utilisation. Themes which run through every issue of 60°north include the northern conditions, purity and Finnish expertise. The magazine is distributed to politicians and EU officials, lobbyists, partners, decision-makers and the media.
