River Tana
Fishing in the River Tana fishing district is regulated by a common agreement between Finland and Norway concluded in 1989 and related fishing rule.
According to the agreement, the Lapland Employment and Economic Development Centre and Fylkesmannen i Finnmark may decide jointly on the fisheries issues concerning tourists if this is necessary due to the state of the fish populations and practising of fishing. Negotiations with the Norwegian party are usually held each January. Matters to be agreed on include the fishing periods for tourists, closed areas and prices of fishing licences. Decisions concerning the next season are made by the beginning of April.

River Neiden
Fishing licences for River Neiden area sold by Wild North (wildnorth@wildnorth.net), for example, at Ivalo service point of Metsähallitus and Upper Lapland Nature Centre.

River Tornio
Almost all municipalities along the river on the Finnish side of the border and Metsähallitus have agreed on a so-called joint licence procedure. A large number of water owners in Sweden have joined the procedure.
