Intervention operations and market support stabilise the market prices of agricultural products

The objectives of the common agricultural policy of the EU include the stabilisation of the price level of agricultural products. This takes place through the intervention systems and market support. Agricultural products are purchased to intervention stocks, while various kinds of market supports promote the export of agricultural products to third countries and their consumption within the EU.
