Council for Natural Resources promotes sustainable use of renewable natural resources
The Finnish Council for Natural Resources promotes the sustainable use and management of renewable natural resources and related planning. The Council ensures that nature and environmental protection are taken into account in the use of natural resources.
The Council functions as an advisory body in connection with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The members are appointed by the Government (chairperson, vice-chairperson, maximum of 15 members) and they represent the political parties according to the composition of the Parliament. The Council convenes monthly in the Parliament House.
