The preparation of the priority area concerning agriculture, forestry and fisheries got started at a kick-off meeting in Helsinki, Finland on 7-8 October 2009. Representatives from different EU countries and the European Commission had been invited to the meeting, which was organised by the Finnish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
The discussions focused on the coordination of the agriculture, forestry and fisheries issues under the strategy and on the flagship projects.
