Finland's Permanent Representation in the European Union in Brussels prepares the decisions of the European Council on the basis of instructions and guidelines from the Finnish Government. The staff of the Permanent Representation is about 100. From the administrative sector of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry there are usually three officials who are experts in different fields and whose secondment in Brussels lasts two to four years. As reinforcement during the Finnish Presidency in the EU there are four additional employees in the Permanent Representation.
