According to the division of the task in the state government, the administrative sector of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry comprises agriculture, rural development, forestry, fisheries, game, reindeer husbandry, safety and quality of foodstuffs and production inputs of agriculture, animal health and welfare, plant health, land survey and joint use of geographic information, and water economy. There are significant international issues and active cooperation in all these sectors, with the aim of promoting the Finnish interests.
